Job Description
- Amman Mineral Industri has a Flash Smelting Furnace (FSF) and a Flash Converting Furnace (FCF) in its Copper Smelting unit located at the Sumbawa Island in Indonesia. The smelters convert copper concentrate, received from the Batu Hijau mines, to blister copper and slag of the stipulated specification for supply to the Anode Plant for production of copper anodes for the Electro Refinery and the off-gas to the Sulphuric Acid Plant.
- This role is responsible for supervising the entire material handling operations involving receiving, weighing, sampling, blending, stockpiling, reclaiming and QC of concentrate and flux transported by vehicles and conveyor from the Batu Hijau mines and external suppliers.
Some of your duties will include:
- Operational Excellence
- Supervising the Materials Handling Operations to achieve proper receiving, blending, stockpiling and reclaiming of copper concentrates as per plan and stipulated quality parameters
- Supervising maintenance planning and implementation of routine preventative and predictive maintenance as well as shutdowns to improve uptime of the blending shed and associated equipment
- Compliance & Sustainability
- Implementing compliance with statutory, hygiene and environment norms at the MHP
- Conducting risk analysis and ensuring mitigation actions
- Profitability and Cost Optimisation
- Supervising achievement of budgeted efficiencies with respect to MHP operations to minimise rejections downstream and minimise copper losses
- Supervising utilisation of resources including spares and consumables vis a vis consumption norms with respect to MHP operations to keep cost of production within budget
- Customer Centricity
- Supervising delivery of specified quality and quantity of copper concentrate blends to the flash furnaces
- Facilitating cross functional collaboration with flash furnace team, engineering teams and the Batu Hijau mines to expedite solutions at all levels
- Minimising internal and external customer response time of self and team
Requirements:
- Graduate Engineer in Chemical/ Metallurgy/ Process Engineering
- 3-5 years in smelter operations or other large bulk material handling application
- Domain knowledge of materials handling in process plants
- Leadership and supervisory skills
- Understanding of maintenance practices
- Domain knowledge of smelting and blending
- Understanding of quality systems and process control tools
- Interpersonal effectiveness and Conflict management
