Job Description:

  • The Energy Marshall (Critical Electrical Engineer) will oversee Microsoft’s Energy Isolation Program, ensuring compliance and safety in mission-critical facilities. This role involves coordinating with engineering teams, implementing energy isolation procedures, and participating in incident investigations.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial or commercial field engineering in mission-critical facilities and electrical infrastructures.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Fundamental understanding of global and National Electrical Codes.
  • Experience with critical electrical equipment (e.g., switchgear, UPS, DC battery systems).
  • Understanding of hazardous energy control in complex infrastructures.
  • OSHA 30 construction training.
  • NFPA 70E training for electrical safety.
  • K3 Umum and K3 Listrik certifications.
  • Experience in critical environments and compliance with industry standards.
  • Ability to present technical solutions to engineers and non-engineers.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and ability to interpret drawings.
  • 10+ years of experience on multi-disciplinary projects; mission-critical facility experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with building management systems and Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Compass Tool.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, planning, and report writing skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance of Microsoft’s Energy Isolation Program and establish acceptance criteria for energy isolation plans.
  • Implement and drive consistency in energy isolation procedures to meet safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create a centralized Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedure.
  • Initiate energy isolation activities and provide ongoing updates.
  • Liaise with construction teams to address impacts on data center operations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in energy isolation incident investigations.
  • Participate in high-risk activity planning meetings related to energy isolation.
  • Review high-risk statements of work, standard operating procedures, and ensure all energy sources are identified.
  • Verify qualifications, training, and PPE for personnel performing energy isolation work.
  • Generate monthly reports on the status of the energy isolation program.
