Position Overview:
- The Operations Manager at New Zealand School Jakarta is responsible for managing the school’s operational, administrative, government relations/compliance, and HR-related tasks. This includes overseeing campus facilities, school events and activities, health and safety, vendor and subcontractor coordination, government relations and compliance, and managing recruitment and employee contracts, to ensure a safe and efficient school environment. The ideal candidate will be assertive and thorough in their approach, proactively addressing issues and ensuring that the school continues to provide a high-quality, safe, and organized learning environment for students, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take command of the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of all school buildings and grounds, including managing any renovations and improvements needed, all to ensure a well-structured and welcoming environment every day.
- Lead decisively in the implementation of safety protocols, including fire drills, emergency evacuations, and strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Command authority over vendor and subcontractor relationships and maintain control over contracts and service delivery, ensuring high standards and cost-effective solutions, including for cleaning, security, transportation, and catering, ensuring high service quality.
- Direct and control the planning and execution of school events, including logistical arrangements and vendor coordination, ensuring precise execution of operational needs.
- Manage office supplies and ensure the availability of materials needed for daily school operations.
- Manage operational budgets related to facilities, vendors, and supplies, ensuring alignment with the school’s financial goals.
- Support recruitment efforts by managing job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
- Handle staff contracts, ensuring timely issuance, renewal, and compliance with school policies.
- Managing government relations and compliance matters.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facilities management, HR, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations or facilities management, preferably within an educational or international setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to operational challenges and HR challenges.
- Familiarity with HR practices and employment regulations.
- Familiar with compliance related to SPK schools and have experiences in dealing with relevant government institutions
- Experience managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and enforcing compliance with external vendors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and office management software.
- Knowledge of the Indonesian regulatory environment is a plus.
- Fluent English and Indonesian.
