Job Summary:

  • The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy of financial information and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Financial Controller will work closely with top management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to management.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts.

2. Accounting and Compliance:

  • Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate annual audits and prepare audit schedules and documentation.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of budget templates, timelines, and guidelines.
  • Develop financial forecasts and monitor budget variances.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve budgetary performance.

4. Internal Controls and Procedures:

  • Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures.
  • Review and enhance financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting.

5. Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage working capital requirements.
  • Oversee treasury functions and relationships with financial institutions.

6. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

7. Strategic Planning:

  • Support the CEO and top management in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Provide financial analysis and modeling for business initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term financial goals and strategies.

Qualifications:

1. Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; certification preferred.

2. Experience:

Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

3. Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP (XERO) systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
