Job Description
- We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable ATAR Chemistry Teacher to join our academic team! This position involves teaching Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 students, preparing them for ATAR Chemistry exams while fostering a deep understanding of chemical principles and their applications in real-world contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and prepare students for ATAR Chemistry at Year 11 and Year 12 levels, focusing on both theoretical and practical components.
- Develop and deliver engaging and inquiry-based lessons that stimulate curiosity and promote critical thinking.
- Design and assess coursework, lab experiments, and activities that align with ATAR Chemistry standards.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and academic growth.
- Liaise with Chemistry principal consultant of the Schools Curriculum and Standards Authority
- Stay updated on the latest curriculum changes, teaching strategies, and scientific advancements to ensure high-quality instruction.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages student collaboration, safety in the laboratory, and a passion for science.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification and certification.
- Experience in teaching ATAR Chemistry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of chemistry principles, laboratory safety, and hands-on experimentation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- A commitment to supporting students with varying abilities and learning styles.
English Requirement:
- A strong capacity and confidence to deliver ALL lessons in English a MUST.
Must pass the minimum requirement for any of the English assessments below:
- IELTS – 7 overall (no band below 6.5)
- Pearson English Test – 65 overall (Reading minimum of 58)
- Duolingo English Test – 120 or higher
Preferred Attributes:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with the ATAR assessment standards and curriculum requirements.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to teaching, with a passion for student success.
- Experience working in an ATAR educational environment is a plus.
