Job Description
- The Director of Data Center Operations plays a vital role in maintaining seamless and efficient functionality across our data center facilities. This position is responsible for building, leading, and managing the operations team, overseeing the infrastructure, and ensuring all systems consistently meet the performance standards required by our clients.

- We are currently working with a leading data center company who is looking for a competent Operations Director to help them in this time of growth.
- Description
- Build, train, and lead the data center operations team, overseeing all aspects of facilities management across various disciplines.
- Collaborate with the data center business development team to provide technical and operational input for RFP responses.
- Act as the internal client for the data center project team, reviewing and supervising design and construction to ensure operational functionality and compliance with client requirements.
- Oversee daily operations, including incident response, maintenance planning, capacity management, and coordination with the onsite/remote team as well as NOC/SOC personnel.
- Ensure adherence to client SLAs in all areas of operation.
- Manage small-scale expansion and migration projects within existing facilities.
- Develop and enforce comprehensive management and compliance protocols for high-reliability data center operations, meeting industry standards.
- Work closely with IT teams to facilitate smooth hardware installations, network setups, and ongoing maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of cybersecurity, physical security, and logical security.
- Manage relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring service agreements and performance expectations are consistently met.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and drive initiatives for data center scalability.
- Oversee the operational budget, including cost forecasting and optimization strategies.
- Implement continuous improvements in operational processes and disaster response planning.
- Ensure sustainability goals are achieved and certifications such as ISO are maintained and renewed as required.
- Provide leadership and promote professional growth within the team, encouraging a culture of excellence and continuous development.
- Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, MEP Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Significant experience in managing data center operations, ideally in a leadership or executive role.
- Deep technical expertise in data center systems, including power distribution, HVAC, Direct Liquid Cooling, and IT infrastructure.
- Exceptional skills in organization, leadership, and strategic decision-making.
- Proven ability to perform well under pressure and effectively manage crisis situations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive mindset for identifying and executing solutions.
- Relevant certifications in data center operations, facilities management, or IT infrastructure are a plus.
