- Description
This key strategic role is responsible to drive and develop the business to deliver the growth of the targeted category. You will be reporting to an expatriate (C-level), and hence, you are required to be able to communicate fluently in English. Other key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and developing business opportunities to generate revenue through new acquisitions and retention.
- Developing and implementing category strategies that are aligned with the company’s overall business goals.
- Analysing market trends and consumer insights to identify opportunities to grow.
- Working effectively in a team, and providing effective leadership and strategy by identifying, recruiting training & retaining new suppliers/brands.
- Continuously coaching, implementing and developing best practise and recommendations to improve the business productivity and effectiveness.
- Providing recommendations to improve process efficiency.
- Monitoring and analysing performance metrics, including sales, margins and inventory turnover. This includes using data-driven insights to make strategic decisions.
- Increasing the number of growth, new suppliers and transactions on the retail market.
- Overseeing and developing design, marketing, promotion and delivery of programs, products, and services in Indonesia.
- Generating new leads of potential customers and analysing and anticipating market trend growths.
- Planning and directing strategies for delivering inventory to customers in response to the market needs and demand.
- Managing, negotiating pricing to maximise the profitability of the business.

It is essential that the Indonesian candidate we are looking for has the drive to succeed, excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric mind-set. Ideally, we are looking for Indonesian individuals with experience in the food/non-food/essential sector, to be familiar with an international mind-set.Furthermore, you will be hands-on to personally drive and grow the business presence in Indonesia, elevating your own career as a result. To seize the opportunity, you should have:
- University graduate major in a reputable university; post-graduate degree is a plus.
At least 8 years of working experience in a sales-related / business development / commercial / category management role with management exposure Industry:
retail or start-ups or FMCG.
- Or, if you have worked in start-up environment, you are also welcomed to apply.
- Good leadership skill, be a team player and can work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Experience in managing multiple accounts is a must, and having the right commercial mindset.
- Demonstrating ability to prioritise work to achieve the given target.
- Complete fluency in both English and Indonesian, spoken and written as well as strong business acumen, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritise, meet challenging deadlines and perform under pressure.
- Flexible and adaptable to work in a high-paced growth
- Results-driven and being able to work with minimum supervision.
- Humble, hands-on, not title driven, and willingness to work as an individual contributor.
