Responsibilities:
Customs Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all relevant customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
Import/Export Documentation:
Prepare and manage documentation required for import and export activities, including customs declarations, permits, licenses, and certificates.
Customs Clearance:
Coordinate with customs brokers and agents to ensure timely customs clearance of goods.
Tariff Classification:
Determine accurate tariff classifications for imported and exported products to ensure proper duty rates are applied.
Duty Drawback:
Identify opportunities for duty drawback and other customs duty minimization strategies.
Risk Management:
Assess and mitigate customs-related risks, such as duty discrepancies, penalties, and audits.
Communication:
Liaise with internal stakeholders, including logistics, finance, and procurement teams, to ensure alignment on customs-related matters.
Regulatory Updates:
Stay informed about changes in customs regulations and trade policies, and communicate relevant updates to the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- A relevant certification in customs compliance (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) is desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customs compliance, import/export operations, or related fields.
- Experience working with customs brokers and familiarity with customs clearance processes is required.
- In-depth understanding of Indonesian customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Familiarity with international trade agreements and customs valuation principles is preferred.
- Proficiency in preparing and managing import/export documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin is a plus
Computer Proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with customs management software or systems.
