We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial performance and present insights to management to drive informed business decisions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to the F&B industry, such as food cost percentage, labor cost percentage, and average spend per customer.
- 2. Cost Control & Inventory Management
- Monitor and control food and beverage costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Manage inventory valuation and ensure proper accounting for inventory adjustments, including wastage, theft, and spoilage.
- Oversee cost of goods sold (COGS) and ensure accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with kitchen and procurement teams to monitor purchasing, portion control, and inventory tracking systems.
- 3. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads to plan for expenses and revenues.
- Track performance against budget and analyze variances to propose corrective actions.
- Assist in creating long-term financial plans, especially regarding opening new locations or launching new products.
- 4. Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, including VAT and income tax specific to the F&B industry.
- Oversee tax filings and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Manage audits, both internal and external, and ensure adherence to accounting regulations.
- 5. Payroll & Labor Management
- Oversee payroll for employees, ensuring correct accounting for wages, benefits, and tips.
- Monitor labor costs in line with industry standards and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Collaborate with HR on payroll processing and overtime calculations.
- 6. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Ensure timely payment of suppliers and manage vendor relationships.
- Manage customer billing and ensure timely collection of accounts receivable, especially for events or catering services.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
- 7. Cash Flow Management
- Monitor daily cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
- Track revenue streams and manage payments and collections efficiently.
- Reconcile cash drawers and bank deposits regularly.
- 8. Internal Controls & Audit
- Establish internal control systems to prevent theft, fraud, and operational inefficiencies.
- Ensure segregation of duties in handling cash, recording sales, and managing inventories.
- Conduct regular audits of food and beverage costs, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- 9. Point of Sale (POS) System Management
- Oversee integration between the POS system and accounting software for accurate reporting.
- Ensure that daily sales reports are reconciled with cash and credit card receipts.
- Work with IT or software vendors to resolve any POS system discrepancies or issues.
- 10. Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Planning
- Oversee and account for capital expenditures related to equipment, renovations, or new branch openings.
- Ensure CapEx is recorded and depreciated correctly in the financial statements.
- 11. Supplier & Vendor Relations
- Negotiate favorable payment terms and discounts with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier agreements to ensure compliance with contracts and pricing structures.
- Ensure invoices are accurate and match purchase orders.
- 12. Collaboration with Operations
- Work closely with restaurant, bar, and kitchen managers to streamline financial processes.
- Attend management meetings to provide insights on profitability, cost-saving measures, and financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within the Food & Beverage industry.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with local accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with POS systems and their integration with accounting software.
- Strong English communication skills
