Job Description
Main Accountabilities:
- To comply with company values and policy. Be always committed to high standards in health and safety.
- To conduct and/or supervise environmental management, environmental monitoring, environmental studies, and other environmental activities.
- To conduct and maintain environmental compliance and reporting. UKL-UPL reports. Hazardous waste balance report. Online Environmental Reporting (SIMPEL) etc.
- Conducting inspections and audits to evaluate the environmental impact of existing activities, processes, wastes, noises, and substances.
- Assessing the likely impact that potential or proposed activities, projects, and developments may have on the environment, and recommending whether such developments should proceed.
- Providing technical advice and support services to STM site staff and service providers on how best to deal with environmental problems to reduce environmental damage and minimize financial loss.
- Develop conservation plans monitor their implementation and performance and recommend improvements and corrections.
- Assisting in training people and in internal communications for safer and cleaner work.
- Knowing, complying with, and encouraging employees’ compliance with procedures of the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System and Vales Code of Ethics, assisting in or leading the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of these processes.
- Developing and coordinating the implementation of environmental management systems to enable STM to identify, monitor, and control the impact of its activities on the environment.
- To work together with all STM teams to form a solid and grounded environmental culture.
- Work closely with the environmental team, consultants, and contractors. Also working together and supporting other departments of the company.
- Maintain good communication and relationship with the government regarding company activities.
- Be involved in the baseline studies for AMDAL support.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years experience in an Environmental Role (Previous experience in the mining and/or mineral exploration industries would be highly regarded).
- Knowledge of AMDAL (Environmental Impact Assessment) Principles.
- Knowledge of Indonesian Environmental Legislation and Associated Regulations.
- Knowledge of Waste Management.
- Knowledge of Renewable Energy and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Strategies.
- Experience in managing environmental studies.
- Good English Skills (Language and Written) is a must.
