Main Accountabilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop comprehensive strategies and action plans for community development
- initiatives, aligned with company goals and community needs assessments. Identify priority areas for
- intervention and set measurable objectives.
Program Design and Implementation:
Design, implement, and oversee community development programs
- and projects aimed at addressing identified needs and enhancing local capacities. Coordinate with internal
- teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective execution.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Establish robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of
- community development initiatives. Collect and analyze data to measure progress, identify strengths and
- weaknesses, and make informed decisions for program improvement.
Capacity Building:
Develop and deliver targeted training programs and capacity-building activities to
- enhance the skills and capabilities of local community. Empower community members to actively
- participate in decision-making processes and take ownership of development projects.
Partnership Development:
Collaborate with local governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs),
- community-based organizations (CBOs), and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise for
- community development efforts. Cultivate strategic partnerships to maximize impact and sustainability.
Resource Mobilization:
Identify funding opportunities and develop grant proposals to secure financial
- support for community development initiatives. Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure
- efficient utilization and accountability.
Communication and Advocacy:
Communicate the objectives, activities, and achievements of community
- development initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. Advocate for the importance of community
- development and the positive impact of company-supported programs.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Community Development, Social Work, International Development, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Science, or a related field.
- More than 5 years in experience dealing with extractive industry external/ community
- relations or similar.
- Proven experience in community development, project management, or related roles,
- with a focus on program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles and methodologies,
- including the ability to develop indicators and data collection tools.
