Responsibilities:
Supervising Project Implementation On-Site:
Responsible for monitoring project progress at the construction site and ensuring that all work is carried out according to design plans, technical specifications, and established standards.
Coordination with the Construction Team:
The site architect collaborates with contractors, structural teams, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), interior designers, and field workers to ensure that all design elements are correctly implemented. They must be capable of providing solutions to technical issues that arise during the project execution.
Ensuring Compliance with Regulations:
The site architect must ensure that construction work complies with all applicable building regulations, safety standards, and environmental regulations. They also play a role in handling the necessary permits and documentation.
Quality Control and Inspection:
The site architect is responsible for conducting regular inspections to ensure the quality of work, materials used, and accuracy of implementation according to the working drawings and specifications. If discrepancies are found, they must take action to address them.
Managing Design Changes:
If there are changes to the design or specifications during the construction process, the site architect is responsible for communicating these changes to the field team and ensuring that implementation proceeds smoothly without disrupting the project schedule.
Communication with Owners and Users:
The site architect acts as a liaison between the design team, developer, and owners. They provide project progress reports and ensure that the owners’ expectations are met throughout the construction process.
Budget and Time Monitoring:
The site architect works to keep the project within budget and schedule. They monitor the use of materials and labor to prevent waste and delays.
Safety and Security:
The site architect is also involved in ensuring that safety procedures on-site are properly implemented, which includes ensuring that workers comply with the established occupational safety standards.
Construction Documentation:
The site architect is also responsible for preparing and maintaining comprehensive documentation of each stage of construction, including managing archives for future reference and audit purposes.
Project Management and Communication:
The site architect implements project management principles in carrying out their duties and prepares periodic reports to the Project Manager (PM) and design team regarding progress and issues at the site.
- Requirements
- Graduate in Architecture from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in consulting and contracting, particularly in hotel and commercial projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe, and Microsoft Project software.
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in English.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willing to be assigned to out-of-town locations for extended periods.
