Job Description
- General Services Manager for an office building oversees the day-to-day operations and maintenance of office facilities.
- Key Responsibilities
Facility Management:
Ensure timely repairs, routine facility maintenance, general cleaning, and upgrades to keep the office building in optimal condition.
Building Compliance:
Handle various legal permits related to office building, ensuring that the facility complies with local, state, and government regulations.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
Coordinate with external vendors for cleaning, pest control, hygiene, security, waste management, and other essential services. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory management for supplies needed for building operations.
Space Management and Optimization:
Plan and manage space utilization, ensuring effective allocation of office spaces and warehouse areas. Coordinate office relocations, layout changes, or expansions.
Budget Management:
Prepare and manage budgets for general services, including repairs, utilities, and service contracts. Track expenses and ensure cost-efficiency in operational management.
Customer Service and Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee regarding any facility-related issues or requests.
Sustainability Initiatives:
Implement environmentally sustainable practices, such as energy-saving initiatives, recycling programs, and efficient waste management.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of building & facility maintenance schedules, service contracts, and regulatory compliance documents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in facility, general services management, or building management preferably in office buildings with experience in leadership role
- Strong understanding of building operations, general affair, and safety regulations.
- Familiar to organize company’s license, building permit & insurance
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency.
- Good interpersonal skills for effective team and vendor management.
Work Environment:
This role require occasional work or weekend work to oversee urgent repairs, cleaning activity or special projects.
