Job Description
Communication Officer:
- To provide a safe, high quality education and care for early years and elementary children.
- To lead and manage staff on a day-to-day basis. The role undertakes projects and prepares a range of communication resources for the early childhood education sector, to ensure that all statutory and setting obligations are followed and met.
- Ensure an effective link between the school financial plan and the school improvement plan
- Understand the implications of educational trends and developments.
- Prepare a range of communication resources, text with customers over the phone professionally.
- Work closely with leaders and executives to develop and strengthen employee engagement activities.
- Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information
- Ensure teaching and support staff work effectively together.
- Strong communication with parents, students and our partners
- Ensuring school communication in a consistent, professional way
- Ensuring that students receive proper educational services by working with parents and other community members
- Analysing and paying attention to customer needs
- To ensure records are properly maintained and updated, daily attendance register, accident and incident records
- Navigate phone system, replying messages precisely, redirecting appropriately with warm transfer.
- milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plan.
- Answer inquiries from teachers, parents, school administration, staff, outside agencies, and other authorities; provide appropriate information as required
- To take responsibility for ensuring that performance management systems are in place and followed, supervision, team meetings
- To ensure that staff are appropriately supported to carry out their role effectively
- To ensure the weekly planning of activities and events is shared on a Rota basis by all staff and supported by the manager
- Oversight of school website and other parent portals
- To attend any conferences, training events or meetings
- To ensure a safe environment for children, staff and others, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented.
- To liaise closely with parents, informing them about the setting and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents involvement.
- Assist with coordination of partnership programs with parents, volunteers, businesses, and the community in general
- Communicate with District personnel, representatives of community organizations and others regarding media and public information needs
- Skills and Knowledge
- At least 3 years proven supervisory management experience working in an early years care and education setting or at least other suitable experience.
- • Outstanding people skills. Demonstrable ability to listen, build rapport and communicate persuasively with people of different backgrounds.
- •Ability to effectively lead and manage a team
- • Excellent BILINGUAL skills in oral and written communication. Articulate with the ability to write and speak messages that are clear and accurate.
- •Ability to plan and implement a pre-school curriculum
- • Ability to speak confidently in public at individual or group level.
- • Ability to produce concise, informative and appropriate written documentation.
- • Excellent attention to detail.
- • Highly organized, with good time management skills, negotiation skills.
