- Use specialized welding techniques to repair, reinforce, and fabricate high-strength steel structures, including complex parts like chassis, frames, and booms.
- Repair and restore damaged components, including hydraulic arms, structural steel, large metal buckets, and cutting edges, ensuring optimal durability and safety.
- Provide critical welds to high-stress areas of equipment that operate under extreme conditions (e.g., in high-pressure or high-load areas).
- Regularly inspect welding equipment to ensure it is in proper working order and adhere to maintenance schedules for tools like welding machines, torches, and cutting devices.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the welding area is hazard-free, particularly when handling high-risk tasks like welding in confined spaces or at elevated heights.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or vocational training in welding is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a welder in an industrial setting, with a strong background in welding heavy equipment used in mining.
- Expertise in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW) and familiarity with industrial-grade welding machines and tools.
