- Prioritize maintenance tasks based on equipment criticality, operational demands, and available resources to minimize downtime and disruptions to production.
- Create detailed work orders, outlining specific tasks, required resources, and timelines for the maintenance team to follow.
- Lead a team of maintenance planners, schedulers, and support staff, ensuring that maintenance plans are executed effectively and on time.
- Track the usage of spare parts and materials to maintain adequate inventory levels, avoiding delays in maintenance activities.
- Design and implement preventive maintenance (PM) programs for critical mining equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, including completed work orders, equipment histories, and performance data.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field is typically required.
- Certifications in maintenance planning or equivalent experience in maintenance management.
- 5-7 years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets and cost control measures.
- Proficiency with maintenance management software to manage work orders, schedules, and equipment data.
