Job Description

  • The Fixed Assets Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s fixed asset portfolio. This includes ensuring accurate recording, tracking, and reporting of all fixed assets, implementing and maintaining asset management policies, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a detailed and accurate fixed asset register, including asset acquisition, disposal, and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare and present reports on fixed asset movements, valuations, and depreciation for financial statements and audits.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to asset management and control.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to fixed assets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide required documentation and support during audits.
  • Utilize asset management software and systems to track and report on asset information.
  • Oversee periodic asset valuations and revaluations as needed. Conduct physical asset inventories and reconcile with records to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyse and report on asset-related costs and recommend improvements for cost efficiency.
  • Supervise and train staff involved in asset management and accounting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in fixed asset management, accounting, or finance, typically 5-7
  • years.
  • Proficiency in asset management software, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft
  • Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and asset management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and manage financial data.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing and recording asset information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and contribute to team success.
