Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a professional kitchen.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and cuisines relevant to your section.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the preparation and cooking of dishes in your designated section (e.g., grill, pastry, sauté).
- Ensure that all food is prepared according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, including line cooks and apprentices.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies specific to your section.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your work area, following health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Ensure consistent quality and taste in all dishes served from your section.
- Assist in maintaining kitchen schedules and workflows during busy service periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen.
- Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
