Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a professional kitchen.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and cuisines relevant to your section.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the preparation and cooking of dishes in your designated section (e.g., grill, pastry, sauté).
  • Ensure that all food is prepared according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, including line cooks and apprentices.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies specific to your section.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of your work area, following health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
  • Ensure consistent quality and taste in all dishes served from your section.
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen schedules and workflows during busy service periods.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.
