Job Description

  • Quality Control Officer
  • The Quality Control Officer is responsible for ensuring the quality and condition of items received at the site or warehouse, supporting the production team in tracking materials and verifying products. Key responsibilities include inspecting deliveries, verifying accuracy with production schedules and purchase orders, and reporting discrepancies to management. The role also involves maintaining inventory records, coordinating with suppliers for returns or replacements, and conducting quality audits at supplier sites to ensure standards are met before shipping.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect items upon arrival at the site and/or warehouse to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Utilise the production schedule and purchase orders as part of the quality control and production tracking process.
  • Support the production team by verifying the accuracy and condition of materials, furniture, fixtures, and accessories.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and the Production Assistant to maintain accurate records of received items and any discrepancies found during inspection.
  • Ensure all rejected items and/or over-supplied products are reported to the Production Administrator for tracking and future allocation.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors regarding quality issues and coordinate returns or replacements as necessary.
  • Visit suppliers to ensure that products meet the required standard before shipping, including verifying packing and delivery instructions and undertaking quality control audits.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records and stock levels to support project requirements.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to management for enhancing quality control processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in quality control or a related field is preferred, knowledge of interior design materials, furniture, and fixtures is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and vendors. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
