Job Description
- The Head of Sales & Event Management is responsible for overseeing all sales and event management activities within the company. This role requires leadership in driving revenue growth through both sales efforts and the successful execution of corporate events. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align event planning with business objectives and ensure that sales strategies are effectively executed through events and other initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth.
- Manage the sales team, setting clear performance goals, providing training, and motivating team members to meet objectives.
- Monitor sales pipelines, forecasts, and performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Identify new business opportunities, key accounts, and markets to drive sales growth.
2. Event Management & Execution:
- Plan, organize, and manage a portfolio of events, including trade shows, conferences, product launches, and corporate events.
- Oversee the development of event concepts, timelines, budgets, and promotional strategies.
- Ensure the seamless execution of all events, from planning through to post-event evaluation, working closely with logistics, vendors, and internal teams.
- Monitor event success and attendee satisfaction through data collection and feedback.
3. Sales & Event Alignment:
- Align sales initiatives with event strategies to ensure that all events contribute to the overall business development goals.
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to leverage events for lead generation, customer engagement, and relationship building.
- Implement strategies to maximize post-event sales follow-ups, lead nurturing, and conversion.
4. Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients during event planning and execution, ensuring that client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure stakeholder needs are understood and incorporated into event planning.
5. Team Management & Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and event management teams to achieve high performance.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and development opportunities for team members.
6. Budget & Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage sales and event budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Track, report, and optimize event costs while ensuring high ROI for each event.
- Monitor profitability of sales activities and events, adjusting strategies as needed.
7. Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for both sales and event success.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, event outcomes, and profitability.
- Use data-driven insights to continuously improve sales and event strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales leadership and event management (5+ years preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events and deadlines.
- Financial acumen, including budget management and ROI analysis.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, sales tools, and event management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
