Job Description
- The Head of Engineering will oversee all engineering activities for the upstream palm oil business, including managing PKS production, civil, and MEP projects. Key responsibilities include developing strategies, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with ISO, RSPO, and ISPO standards, and optimizing operations. The role requires at least 10 years of experience in palm oil mill operations and strong leadership in engineering project management.

- Description
- Oversee the development and execution of the Engineering Work Plan and Budget (RKA) to ensure timely completion, efficient resource allocation, and adherence to company guidelines.
- Develop strategies and implement production plans for Palm Kernel Crushing Stations (PKS), ensuring targets for schedule, volume, and quality are met. Oversee all civil and MEP engineering tasks to ensure they comply with standards.
- Strategize and manage civil and MEP projects, ensuring timely and cost-efficient completion in line with contracts and specifications. Evaluate budget plans, equipment, and material usage for ongoing and future projects.
- Ensure all engineering processes adhere to ISO, RSPO, and ISPO standards. Drive continuous improvements by optimizing methods, proposing new technologies, and revising SOPs for efficiency.Implement health, safety, and environmental programs to minimize work-related risks and manage waste in compliance with regulations.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the engineering team. Set individual KPIs, foster a culture aligned with company values, and ensure continuous development through training and knowledge sharing.
- Review and sign off on all operational documents and reports, ensuring accuracy and preventing errors or fraud. Establish quality objectives and monitor performance metrics across engineering operations.
- Profile
- At least 10 years in the palm oil industry, with a minimum of 3 years as Chief Engineering/Head of Engineering or 7 years as Regional Mill Controller/GM Processing
- Proven experience managing civil and mechanical engineering projects in large-scale operations.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong leadership abilities, capable of managing large teams and complex engineering projects across multiple disciplines (civil, mechanical, and MEP).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that optimize operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Deep understanding of PKS (Palm Kernel Crushing Station) operations and related engineering processes.
- Familiarity with ISO, RSPO, ISPO, and other sustainability standards, with the ability to ensure compliance.
- A track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills to handle complex engineering and operational challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, able to provide clear direction to teams and collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.
