Job Description

  • We are looking for a Financial Controller to be based in Indonesia.
  • Reporting to Group Chief Financial Officer, the role is Accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning
  • Assist the CEO in preparing and monitoring the strategic business plan
  • Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
  • Financial Information and regulatory requirements
  • Supervise accounting and reporting to HAC HQ under IFRS rules. Responsible for completion and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are accurately stated and have adequate support.
  • Oversee the issuance of financial information
  • Prepare analysis of the cost in individual factories
  • Ensure Reporting Compliance to local Indonesia accounting standard for the purpose of local statutory accounts
  • Report financial results to the local and group senior management
  • Handle annual and interim audits and ensure fairness and compliance with all regulations that apply to the financial statements.
  • Cash management and funding
  • Supervise Treasury and Financing functions
  • Control the cash flow position for all the operating units in Indonesia; understand the sources and uses of cash
  • Maintain the integrity of funds
  • Prepare accurate cash forecast, and share it with the HQ Treasury team
  • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
  • Arrange for debt and equity financing
  • Maintain banking relationships
  • Operations
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
  • Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
  • Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems
  • Suggest for operational best practices where applicable
  • Risk Management
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile
  • Drive and ensure a robust control within the organization
  • With the support of the Group Internal Audit, construct and monitor reliable control systems
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage (I don’t think this falls under Finance. Should be factory manager or country manager, or operational manager)
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements (Should this be legal and compliance?)
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Maintain relations with external auditors
  • Ensure proper follow up of issues raised by external auditors, internal auditors or group risk and control.
  • Tax
  • Monitor all open tax issues involving the company including those under litigation.
  • Ensure proper and timely preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation
  • Ensure timely submission of tax returns
  • Ensure tax provisioning is reviewed timely based on frequency agreed with Group HQ in Singapore
  • Ensure timely payment of tax
  • Ensuring timely resolutions of all tax disputes
  • Ensuring the firm comply timely with new tax regulation

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in Finance and accounting (experience in Big 4 Audit firms, and in a major company or division of a large corporation)
  • Degree in Finance & Accounting. Qualification in Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations would be added advantages
  • Language proficiency in Mandarin is required (both spoken and written for the correspondence with China headquarter), ability to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia would be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge in accounting, costing, taxation and internal control.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills. High level of written and oral communication skills in English is expected.
  • High integrity with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven management skill in a group of companies.
  • Leadership skills and potentials. Experience in partnering with Executive team is expected.
  • PC literate and able to use Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Resourceful and energetic, with an eye for details on strategic matters.
  • Able to work independently as well as being a team-player with strong commitment to department/company harmony.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet the demands of the job.
