Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the coal loading process onto vessels, ensuring all procedures are followed according to company standards.
- Coordinate with the vessel’s crew, port authorities, contractors, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and ensure the maximum efficiency of coal loading activities, resolving any issues or bottlenecks that arise during the process.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols to avoid incidents or delays.
- Prepare and submit daily reports regarding the loading progress and operational status.
- Act as the main point of contact on board for any queries related to the loading process.
- Conduct inspections to ensure the proper handling and stowage of coal cargo.
- Ensure that all machinery and equipment involved in the loading process are operating efficiently and safely.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in coal or bulk cargo handling operations.
- In-depth understanding of vessel operations, coal loading processes, and port regulations.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to handle operational challenges effectively.
- Familiarity with maritime safety regulations and international shipping standards.
- Physically fit and willing to work in a challenging, dynamic environment on board a vessel.
- Strong leadership skills and attention to detail.
- A valid Seafarer’s Book or other relevant maritime certifications is preferred.
