Job Description
- Samara Lombok is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team based in South Lombok, Indonesia. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in optimizing budgets, evaluating plans, negotiating with contractors and vendors, and fostering professional relationships with clients and site managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review construction plans and prepare detailed quantity requirements.
- Analyze maintenance and material costs and evaluate contracts to secure the best possible deals.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, including cost analysis, budgets, contracts, and risk assessments.
- Implement risk management, cost control, and value engineering throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets and expenditures.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Forecast material costs for various stages of the project.
- Develop tender documents, contracts, bills of quantities, and other essential documentation.
- Assess tenders from contractors and subcontractors, conducting negotiations when appropriate.
- Procure or finalize agreements with contractors and/or subcontractors for construction services.
- Prepare cost plans to facilitate practical designs in collaboration with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress, managing measurements, valuations, and variations during contracts to ensure timely interim payments and the final account settlement.
- Conduct monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting final costs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in general construction, with a focus on project cost management and control.
- Advanced proficiency in computer skills, including AutoCAD (ACAD), SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Project.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze financial records and apply data-driven strategies for improved project results.
- Aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reporting.
- Extensive experience in developing and adhering to strict budgets.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, pricing, and industry standards.
- Experience in villa and resort projects is an advantage.
- Analytical mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and strategic thinking abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to work independently.
