  • Create and execute purchasing plans that support the organization’s goals, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier relationship management.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality products, and competitive pricing.
  • Conduct effective negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Oversee the entire purchasing process from requisition to receipt, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and control purchasing costs to optimize spending and achieve cost savings.
  • Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with purchasing, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and financial losses.
  • Lead and develop a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Having experience in hospitality/fisheries industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain management principles.
  • Proficiency in using purchasing software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
