Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Legal Manager is responsible for providing legal advice and support to the school, ensuring compliance with educational laws and regulations, managing contracts, handling disputes, and mitigating legal risks. This role involves collaboration with various departments to safeguard the school’s interests and ensure smooth operations from a legal perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all school licenses both company licenses and operational licenses.
- Responsible for all legal documents related to school operations.
- Responsible for Working permits and KITAS for all expatriates including all immigration clearance.
- Responsible for Student KITAS for the students based on student request.
- Responsible for Property Insurances (Property all risk and earthquake) and group personal accident.
- Involve in all agreements with 3rd parties including creating the draft and filling.
- Prepare and submit the School’s Monthly Report to the Education Department.
- Involve in Legal Opinion (legal advice) related to company/school operational.
- Responsible for legal budget, proposal, and expense control.
- Maintain good relationships with Local Authorities, Government Institutions, and other parties related to company/school operations.
- Involved in school accreditation.
- Join Leadership Meetings or other meetings based on urgency.
- Provide legal advice and support to the school administration, staff, and students.
- Draft and review contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant education laws and regulations.
- Assist with legal compliance and risk management initiatives.
- Represent the school in legal disputes and negotiations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Fluent in English.
- 2 years of experience in a legal role as Manager or HOD, preferably in an educational or corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of education law, labor law, contract law, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage complex legal matters and provide clear, pragmatic advice.
