Job Description

  • We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented General Manager of Operations to lead our growing nickel mining operation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale, open-pit mining operations, preferably within the nickel industry. This role demands a strong operational focus, a deep understanding of cost management, and the ability to effectively lead and develop a high-performing team.

  • Description
  • Oversee all aspects of open-pit mining operations, including planning, execution, and optimization.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team responsible for achieving production targets, cost control, and safety compliance.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term operational plans aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Manage fleet contractors, including setting tenders, cost control, and performance management for ADT trucks and excavators across multiple work areas.
  • Oversee road haulage contract fleet operations to ensure efficient material transportation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering, geology, and other departments to optimize mine planning and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Manage and optimize mine budget and capital expenditure.
  • Profile
  • Proven 15 experience in managing large-scale, open-pit mining operations, preferably in the nickel industry.
  • Strong leadership and building team from the scratch.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining equipment, processes, and best practices.
  • Experience in fleet management, including contractor management and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of mine planning, scheduling, and optimization.
  • Proven ability to drive operational excellence and cost reduction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
