Job Description
- We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented General Manager of Operations to lead our growing nickel mining operation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale, open-pit mining operations, preferably within the nickel industry. This role demands a strong operational focus, a deep understanding of cost management, and the ability to effectively lead and develop a high-performing team.

- Description
- Oversee all aspects of open-pit mining operations, including planning, execution, and optimization.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team responsible for achieving production targets, cost control, and safety compliance.
- Develop and implement short and long-term operational plans aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Manage fleet contractors, including setting tenders, cost control, and performance management for ADT trucks and excavators across multiple work areas.
- Oversee road haulage contract fleet operations to ensure efficient material transportation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering, geology, and other departments to optimize mine planning and execution.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Manage and optimize mine budget and capital expenditure.
- Profile
- Proven 15 experience in managing large-scale, open-pit mining operations, preferably in the nickel industry.
- Strong leadership and building team from the scratch.
- In-depth knowledge of mining equipment, processes, and best practices.
- Experience in fleet management, including contractor management and cost control.
- Strong understanding of mine planning, scheduling, and optimization.
- Proven ability to drive operational excellence and cost reduction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
