Job Description
- The Costing & Standard Pricing Staff is responsible for accurately calculating product costs, setting product prices, coordinating with relevant departments, and updating costing templates. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication to ensure that all costing and pricing activities align with the company’s financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed cost analysis for all products, including raw materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Maintain accurate records of costing data to ensure transparency and traceability.
- Review and analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with company objectives and market conditions.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to set competitive prices while maintaining profitability.
- Monitor and update pricing to reflect changes in costs, market trends, or other relevant factors.
- Work closely with the production, sales, procurement, research & development, PPIC and finance departments to gather necessary data for accurate costing.
- Coordinate with the sales department to ensure pricing strategies meet customer expectations and market demands.
- Communicate any changes in costs or pricing to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain standardized costing templates to improve efficiency and accuracy in cost calculations.
- Regularly review and update templates to reflect changes in production processes, materials, or market conditions.
- Ensure that all templates comply with internal policies and industry standards.
- Prepare detailed costing and pricing reports for management review.
- Document all costing and pricing procedures for reference and audit purposes.
- Provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives based on analysis and market research.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in costing and pricing methodologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, cost drivers, and pricing strategies to enhance the company’s competitive position.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in costing, pricing, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with costing software.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
